Hard as it is to imagine only 2 of the original Mercury 7 are still alive. Scott Carpenter and John Glenn. Perhaps this should be in the heroes alive and dead section. I guess I am just feeling old today.
I think an appropriate memorial would be for the different branches of the military to name a vessel, or weapon after one of these brave American explorers. Is there a remote chance anyone on this board ever meet one of those guys?
