ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A trip into space with Virgin Galactic as the driver will cost passengers $200,000. An executive with the space company founded by Sir Richard Branson says the flight lasts two hours after lifting off from New Mexico's Spaceport America near Truth or Consequences.
Virgin Galactic Vice President Will Pomerantz says test flights are still being conducted. However, Pomerantz tells The Farmington Daily Times the first suborbital launch with passengers may occur in 2013.
Although space travel aboard Virgin Galactic isn't cheap, the space company says it expects the price to drop as the business grows
Pomerantz says Virgin Galactic has already received deposits from about 400 people for a flight into space.
