    Default The Walking Dead

So, anyone besides me watch the premier of this show? According to news articles, it was a record breaking premier.

I thought it was pretty awesome and off to a great start. Cool to see Lennie James from Jericho and Sarah Wayne Callies from Prison Break on there. And watching the previews of upcoming episodes, it looks like Norman Reedus from Boondock Saints is going to be joining the cast.

It also looks like they've already got a second season lined up too!

Hadn't heard of it - looks interesting.

Just saw it is on AMC, so edited out my question.

I need to get my wife to DVR it. I don't have any control over the box...she's got it running constantly.

We time shift everything, even live TV so that we can FF through commercials. She watched that Most haunted thing with TAPS on Sunday by starting 1 hour behind. By the time it was over, she had just caught up to the live ending and had FF over all the commercials.

I'm a Hillbilly Survivalist. Makes me kinda' cold and uncaring. I'm not certain I answered the questions in a way that I would truly act or in a way that I thought the test would reward. Maybe I'll try it agaiin.

Ryan, I got the same as you: Natural Born Leader.

(couldn't figure out how to bring the pic here).

Only thing - I didn't like the answer about the guy that said he'd kill me if I didn't give him my beans.

If that happened in a real SHTF, I would put a bullet in his head immediately.

If a person threatens my life, I'm gonna operate on the fact he's a threat - and will be elimiated.

    My family comes first...always.

    Edit:

Allright, how the hell do you save it?

Cut and pasted it to my WP, but now stuck.

    HAHA!

It's on Hulu. Watching it now. I forgot to instruct the DVR programmer to get it.

The street scene with the tank takes place here:
    http://goo.gl/maps/N5cN

When he moves in on the horse, you can see Marietta Street and the next street is Walton. They used an extremely long lens with a high F-stop to make it look like that.

This means this was filmed in Atlanta during the day. They must have a mondo budget. Union labor, major city, cops, extras, permits, you name it. That scene cost more than the rest of the movie combined.

That's cool that they are working with that big of a budget. That means they have a lot invested in this and it shouldn't be going anywhere any time soon. We know we're at least getting 2 seasons!

And good to see that it is on Hulu just in case the DVR misses it.

Just curious, at the beginning, who else would have grabbed as many of those abandoned military belt feds and hopped into that APC that he just walked right by? After all, when doesn't a bicycle trump armor plate?

My understanding is that only the first episode will be on HULU.

A "natural leader" isn't "voted on", Zen.

The definition of a natural leader is the one that simply becomes leader in the circumstances, not that he or she takes ON the position voluntarily, but knows more about what's going on, knows to do the right thing, knows how to care for or feed the group etc.

Mostly, unless you've been involved in a situation that was critical, perhaps as a person watching from the side lines when there's an accident, you won't really grasp the concept until you experience it. Reading about it is fine, but being there is another story.

Some of us just naturally jump up and DO. Others stand around and question.

Those who DO become the leaders.

I've been in both situations - where I was the leader (in several incidents where there were accidents and everyone panicked) and where I was the one who failed to step forward and do what was necessary.

It's easy to be in either position too.
