In last ten years, N. Korea exported thousands of anti-tank missiles and SAM's to Russia, according to 'SIPRI Yearbook 2005' published by SIPRI(Stockholm International Peace Research Institute) on June 7th.
According to SIPRI Yearbook, N. Korea exported 3,250 anti-tank missiles and 1,250 surface-to-air missiles(SAM) to Russia between 1992 and 2005, and 45 SCUD-C missiles(range 500km) to Yemen between 2001 and 2002.
In addition, N. Korea imported 34 MIG-21 from Kazakstan in 1,999, and 34 Infantry Fighting Vehicle(IFV) from Russia between 2,000 and 2,001.
N. Korea spent 24 million dollars for importing arms in 2,001, but in subsequent three years (up to 2,004), their spending dropped to 5 million dollars.
According to SIPRI Yearbook, U.S. occupies the undisputed No. 1 spot as the country with the largest military spending, (accounting for) 47% of world's total military expenditure. U.S. is followed by Britain, France, Japan, and China.
