The Saudi Connection: Remember the Lessons of Watergate

    by John Galt
    April 30, 2013 20:00 EDT

With all of the coverage of the Saudi national on Glenn Beck’s radio show and news website TheBlaze, I thought the following information might be a timely reminder…..

As if you did not know this, remember this scene and the words of the man known as “Deep Throat”….

(Video: Scene from All the President's Men)

A tad dramatic? Perhaps, perhaps not.

I wish for my readers to consider the actions not just of the CIA and entire United States Justice system under the control of then President Richard Nixon but to reflect on what has happened since 1989 and the ascendency of the modern American Imperial Presidency under the former CIA agent, George H.W. Bush. I also hope that many who have derided the radio talk show host Glenn Beck and his theory would be so kind to take a step back and remember that Watergate started out in a similar fashion, unfortunately for Mr. Beck, he shot the first dud.

The stories and coverage of the alleged Saudi terrorist involved somehow in the Boston Marathon attack but now being declared persona non grata by the United States government is only the tip of a major iceberg. On today’s radio show, Glenn Beck caught up to a portion of the ice submerged below the water by quoting a Miami Herald story (“FBI report: Florida family had ties to people linked to 9/11 attacks“) as well as on TheBlaze website. The only problem is that an award winning journalist broke this story on his blog two weeks ago at the BrowardBulldog.org and what makes the story (Original story at this link) is that it is in my home town, less than 20 minutes from my old home, and there is much more than what has been uncovered to come!

The FBI has been sitting on a treasure trove of information which ties the financial support system for the 9-11 hijackers to a vast network of money laundering and criminal enterprises which remain classified to this day to allegedly protect Saudi Arabian royal friends and family. In another article from the Broward Bulldog there is a not so obvious strong hint as to the existence of this monetary tie by the actions of the family which suddenly vanished just a few weeks before the September 11th terrorist attack:

The names of individuals were redacted before the reports were made public, but are apparent because the documents describe unique, known events. The records were released in response to a specific request for information about the probe at al-Hijji’s former residence at 4224 Escondito Circle.

Agents determined the al-Hijjis “fled” their home on August 27, 2001 – two weeks before the attacks – leaving behind three cars, furniture, clothing, toys, food and other items.
Why is this important information that others outside of Sarasota may not be aware of?

So a family from Saudi Arabia allegedly in the United States for business purposes is suddenly living in a an almost half a million dollar home which had visits from the 9/11 hijackers and apparently was used to help finance the operations according to this quote from a 2011 editorial from Investor’s Business Daily (“Unanswered: What Was Saudis’ Role?“):

Their Sarasota home was owned by Esam Ghazzawi, a Saudi financier. He’d been on an FBI watch list for terror-fundraising. The FBI, however, never briefed the 9/11 Commission about his and the other Saudi occupants’ connections to the hijackers. Congress also was left in the dark about the house search.
Thus the questions have been around for years and fast forward to the events in Boston, Massachusetts and the alleged Saudi student that Glenn Beck has been focusing on; was this so-called innocent student truly an innocent bystander or did our government, as they did on 9-11-01 and afterwards initiate a course of action to cover up for the Saudi Arabian royal family and the ties this individual may have had to the terrorists responsible for the bombing?

The local history that I have seen come to light with local investigators and some old fashioned and act of professional journalism by the Broward Bulldog brings me to the point where numerous doubts about the validity of the U.S. government’s story regarding Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi and his role, if any, in the Boston Marathon bombing. While the media chases its tale desperately trying to cover for these murderers and labeling Glenn Beck’s story a “conspiracy theory” the reality is that there has been an apparent effort where Saudi nationals take up residence inside the United States as visibly active businessmen yet leading a shadow life supporting terrorist activity by providing a financial infrastructure.

The recent spurt of stories about 9-11 and my hometown and the breaking news about Alharbi forces me to provide the strongest hint of all to TheBlaze and their staff because sometimes it is so obvious the initial rush of the story causes even legitimate reporters to miss the biggest part of the story:

    Just follow the money.

I’ll wager it might end up appearing in someone’s campaign donation records if they should ever be declassified and released for public viewing.

Saudi Arabia 'warned the United States IN WRITING about Boston Bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev in 2012'

    • Saudis developed intelligence separately from Russia, which also warned the U.S. about the accused Boston bomber
    • A letter to the Department of Homeland Security allegedly named Tsarnaev and three Pakistanis as potential jihadis worthy of U.S. investigation
    • Red flags from Saudi Arabia to have included Tsarnaev's name and information about a planned explosive attack on a major U.S. city
    • Saudi foreign minister, national security chief both met with Obama in the oval office in early 2013

By David Martosko and The American Media Institute

    PUBLISHED: 22:46 EST, 30 April 2013 | UPDATED: 03:39 EST, 1 May 2013

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia sent a written warning about accused Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2012, long before pressure-cooker blasts killed three and injured hundreds, according to a senior Saudi government official with direct knowledge of the document.

The Saudi warning, the official told MailOnline, was separate from the multiple red flags raised by Russian intelligence in 2011, and was based on human intelligence developed independently in Yemen.

Citing security concerns, the Saudi government also denied an entry visa to the elder Tsarnaev brother in December 2011, when he hoped to make a pilgrimage to Mecca, the source said. Tsarnaev's plans to visit Saudi Arabia have not been previously disclosed.

Looks like three more suspects have been arrested.

No details on the arrests at this time, or who they were yet.

Well, they certainly didn't pass much information. Now they are saying things like conspiring to obstruct justice and destroy evidence. Not actually HELPING the bombers....

Two Kazakh men, Cambridge man, face charges they disposed of laptop, backpack after Boston Marathon bombings

Two of the three men charged, Dias Kadyrbayev, center, and Azamat Tazhayakov, left, posed with Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. By John R. Ellement, Todd Wallack, Maria Sacchetti and Martin Finucane, Globe Staff

Two men from Kazakhstan and a man from Cambridge were arrested and charged today in the Boston Marathon bombings investigation, federal prosecutors said.

Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, both 19 and of New Bedford, were charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice by plotting to dispose of a laptop computer and a backpack containing fireworks belonging to bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the US attorney’s office said in a statement.

Robel Phillipos, 19, of Cambridge was charged with making false statements to law enforcement officials in a terrorism investigation, prosecutors said. All three were, or had been, students at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where Tsarnaev, 19, was also a student.

Tazhayakov and Kadyrbayev face maximum sentences of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Phillipos faces a maximum sentence of eight years and a $250,000 fine, prosecutors said.

Tazhayakov, Kadyrbayev, and Phillipos all began attending UMass Dartmouth together at the same time in 2011.

The trio told investigators that they removed Tsarnaev’s backpack, which contained fireworks that had been opened and emptied of gunpowder, from his dorm room on the evening of April 18, shortly after the FBI released photos of the two bombing suspects (which the FBI later identified as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his brother, Tamerlan), according to an affidavit by Special Agent Scott Cieplik attached to the complaint.

Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov both admitted they agreed to throw away the backpack after concluding from news reports that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev must be one of the bombers. Kadyrbayev decided to remove the backpack from Tsarnaev’s room “to help his friend Tsarnaev avoid trouble,” the affidavit said.

Kadyrbayev allegedly later threw the backpack in a dumpster at the New Bedford apartment complex where Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov lived.

The backpack was taken away by a garbage truck, but was recovered last week inside a black garbage bag by the FBI at a New Bedford landfill, the affidavit said.

The affidavit also alleged that Phillipos changed his story, saying at first that he had never gone to Tsarnaev’s dorm room but in a fourth interview admitting that the three had gone to the room and taken the backpack.

He said he had discussed with the two others what to do with the backpack but had fallen asleep and, upon awaking, discovered the backpack was gone.

The backpack, when it was found, contained fireworks, a jar of vaseline, a UMass Darmouth homework assignment sheet from one of Tsarnaev’s classes, and other items, the affidavit said.

Kadyrbayev told investigators he decided to take Tsarnaev’s laptop as well because he did not want Tsarnaev’s roommate, who was there when the trio stopped by, to think he was stealing or behaving suspiciously by just taking the backpack, the affidavit said. It wasn’t immediately clear from the affidavit what happened to the laptop computer.

The FBI searched Tsarnaev’s dorm room several days later, finding BBs, a large pyrotechnic and a black jacket and white hat matching those worn by one of the two bombing suspects in surveillance footage, the affidavit said.

Kadyrbayev first met Tsarnaev after starting college in fall 2011 and became closer friends with him in the spring 2012, often socializing with him and even meeting with Tsarnaev’s family at Tsarnaev’s home.

Tazhayakov also became friends with Tsarnaev at UMass Dartmouth in fall 2011, the affidavit said.

Tsarnaev is facing federal charges of using a weapon of mass destruction and malicious destruction of property resulting in death in the twin bombings that struck near the Marathon finish line on April 15. His brother, Tamerlan, 26, was killed in a confrontation with police in Watertown several days afterward as the two tried to flee the area. Police say they were trying to subdue him after a shootout when his brother ran him over in a desperate escape.

Authorities say the Tsarnaevs also killed an MIT police officer as they tried to escape. No charges have been filed yet in that case.

The White House and law enforcement authorities have previously suggested that the Tsarnaevs may have acted alone without clear ties to foreign governments or terrorist groups.

But investigators have continued to eye other people who knew the brothers to see if they provided them with any help before or after the attacks. Shortly after the brothers were identified, investigators questioned Tazhayakov, Kadyrbayev, and a third college friend of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Before the criminal charges were announced today, Tazhayakov and Kadyrbayev appeared before a federal immigration judge this morning on charges they overstayed their student visas.

Lawyers for the men said at the hearing the men had cooperated with Homeland Security and FBI investigators for hours and were only college buddies with Dzhohkar Tsarnaev and should be released.

The men were being detained in the Suffolk County jail and appeared before Judge Steven F. Day via videoconference, wearing prison scrubs, from the jail. The consul of Kazakhstan, other representatives, as well as US government officials were in the court.

The hearing marked the men’s first court appearance since immigration officials arrested and jailed them 11 days ago in New Bedford.

The hearing raised questions about why the men were allowed to stay in the United States if their visas were allegedly invalid.

Kadyrbayev, who had studied engineering, was dismissed from UMass after the fall semester, but stayed in the United States. His lawyers argued that he should be allowed to leave the United States voluntarily. A hearing on Kadyrbayev’s case will be held on May 22.

Tazhayakov, an economics major, had his visa terminated on Jan. 4, but he was allowed to reenter the country on Jan. 20 in New York, the judge said in court. The discrepancy puzzled Judge Day. “That doesn’t make any sense,” he said. Day set a bail hearing for Tazhayakov for May 9.

A UMass Dartmouth official confirmed Kadyrbayev was no longer enrolled in school while Tazhayakov was still registered for classes.

The Tsarnaev brothers lived in Kyrgyzstan, which neighbors Kazakhstan. People in both countries speak Russian because they all lived in the former Soviet Union, where the official language was Russian.

The judge that Mirandized the Boston Bomber and his Three Amigos.

Boston Bomber Magistrate’s Middle Eastern Connections

April 25, 2013 By Daniel Greenfield Comments (34)

As FOX News reported and Robert Spencer noted, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev stopped talking once he was prematurely read his Miranda rights. That helps the authorities establish the lone wolf narrative. Whatever else we might have learned from him is probably lost.
Once Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was read his rights on Monday, he immediately stopped talking, according to four officials of both political parties who were briefed on the interrogation but insisted on anonymity because the briefing was private.

After roughly 16 hours of questioning, investigators were surprised when a magistrate judge and a representative from the U.S. Attorney’s office entered the hospital room and read Tsarnaev his rights, the four officials and one law enforcement official said. Investigators had planned to keep questioning him.
    And
District Court Judge Marianne Bowler arrived at the hospital where he is being treated to preside over his initial hearing Monday, when she read him his Miranda rights.

But Fox News’ sources say there was confusion about Bowler’s timing, with some voicing concerns that investigators were not given enough time to question Dzhokhar under the “public safety exception” invoked by the Justice Department.

Two officials with knowledge of the FBI briefing on Capitol Hill said the FBI was against stopping the investigators’ questioning and was stunned that the judge, Justice Department prosecutors and public defenders showed up, feeling valuable intelligence may have been sacrificed as a result.
Judge Bowler has some interesting international connections. She is a member of the Member of the International Judicial Relations Committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States.

Apparently in that capacity, she visited and spoke on legal issues at a number of Muslim countries, becoming the first female judge to speak in Kuwait, appearing also in Egypt and in the United Arab Emirates.

Oddly enough, aside from a visit to the US embassy in Belgrade, those are the only international appearances that she lists and they all take place in Muslim countries.

While Islamic infiltration of our political system is well known, the infiltration of our legal system is less well known, but operates within similar parameters with foreign contacts being made. There is no way of knowing how much Bowler has been influenced by her connections with the legal and political systems of the Muslim world, but it is telling that her international judicial relations appear to begin and end with the Muslim world.

I call it The Left's Unholy Alliance with Islam.

The Leftist know Christianity is at the core of most Conservatives beliefs (their political opponents) and the very foundation America was built on.

One way to change it with the founding documents is couple Tolerance with Radical Islam and Sharia to eradicate Christianity as the dominant religion in America and make your political opposition out as bigoted racists.

Boston bombers’ uncle married daughter of top CIA official

Posted on May 3, 2013 by creeping
Shhhh. via Daniel Hopsicker’s Boston bombers’ uncle married daughter of top CIA official
The uncle of the two suspected Boston bombers in last week’s attack, Ruslan Tsarni, was married to the daughter of former top CIA official Graham Fuller
The discovery that Uncle Ruslan Tsarni had spy connections that go far deeper than had been previously known is ironic, especially since the mainstrean media’s focus yesterday was on a feverish search to find who might have recruited the Tsarnaev brothers.

Ruslan Tsarni married the daughter of former top CIA official Graham Fuller, who spent 20 years as operations officer in Turkey, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. In 1982 Fuller was appointed the National Intelligence Officer for Near East and South Asia at the CIA, and in 1986, under Ronald Reagan, he became the Vice-Chairman of the National Intelligence Council, with overall responsibility for national level strategic forecasting.

At the time of their marriage, Ruslan Tsarni was known as Ruslan Tsarnaev, the same last name as his nephews Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the alleged bombers.
It is unknown when he changed his last name to Tsarni.
What is known is that sometime in the early 1990’s, while she was a graduate student in North Carolina, and he was in law school at Duke, Ruslan Tsarnaev met and married Samantha Ankara Fuller, the daughter of Graham and Prudence Fuller of Rockville Maryland. Her middle name suggests a reference to one of her father’s CIA postings.
The couple divorced sometime before 2004.
Today Ms. Fuller lives abroad, and is a director of several companies pursuing strategies to increase energy production from clean-burning and renewable resources.
On a more ominous note, Graham Fuller was listed as one of the American Deep State rogues on Sibel Edmonds’ State Secrets Privilege Gallery,. Edmonds explained it featured subjects of FBI investigations she became aware of during her time as an FBI translator.
Criminal activities were being protected by claims of State Secrets, she asserted. After Attorney General John Ashcroft went all the way to the Supreme Court to muzzle her under a little-used doctrine of State Secrets, she put up twenty-one photos, with no names.
One of them was Graham Fuller.
A story about a Chechen oik exec/uncle pairing up with a top CIA official who once served as CIA Station Chief in Kabul sounds like a pitch for a bad movie.
But the two men may have been in business together.
In 1995, Tsarnaev incorporated the Congress of Chechen International Organizations in Maryland, using as the address listed on incorporation documents 11114 Whisperwood Ln, in Rockville Maryland, the home address of his then-father-in-law.
It is just eight miles up the Washington National Pike from the Montgomery Village home where “Uncle Ruslan” met—and apparently wowed, the press after the attack in Boston.
Uncle Ruslan’s spy connections go far deeper than was already known, which was that he spent two years working in Kazakhstan for USAID.
But the mainstream media was lookng the other way.

The report reveals that the bomber’s Uncle, made famous for his outspoken condemnation of his nephew’s which aired repeatedly on international news networks, is a well-connected oil executive who at one point worked for a Halliburton shell company used as a front to obtain oil contracts from the Kazakh State.
Ruslon Tsarni was implicated in an investigation involving the laundering and theft of $6 billion. But everybody loves Uncle Ruslon. At least most of America’s mainstream media does.
There has, to date, been no speculation at all about whether an uncle of the men suspected of the bombing who had been involved in international intrigue at the hightest levels, and who married the daughter of a top CIA official, might warrant a closer look.
It’s enough, isn’t it, to turn even reasonably rational adults into—gasp!—conspiracy theorists.
“News,” someone once wrote, “is selection. And selection is always based on an ideology and agenda, which is something to remember next time you watch, listen or read the ‘news.’”
    Too true.
Read it all at the original link and ask yourself why this was/is not major news.
It reminds us of the coverup ignored story of then counterterror chief and now CIA chief John Brennan‘s company involvement in the video no one had seen but Obama used as cover for the 9/11 attack in Libya. Counterterror chief’s company linked to “Innocence of Muslims” video

Boston police chief says feds never shared warnings about bomber

    Published May 09, 2013
    FoxNews.com

Boston and Massachusetts law enforcement officials confirmed Thursday that federal agents left them in the dark on the growing warning signs about Tamerlan Tsarnaev in the run-up to the Boston Marathon bombing.

Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis, in testimony on Capitol Hill, said his officers on a joint terrorism task force were never told about an explicit warning from the Russian government or about Tsarnaev's travel to the Chechnya region last year. Davis said he would have liked to have known about that activity, and that it "absolutely" would have merited a second look at Tsarnaev.

Davis and Massachusetts homeland security official Kurt Schwartz testified that their officers were not looped in on Tsarnaev until after the bombing.

"At no time prior to the bombings did any member of the Massachusetts State Police or the fusion center have any information or knowledge about the Tsarnaev brothers," Schwartz said.

Current and former lawmakers at the committee hearing Thursday expressed disbelief at the lack of information-sharing.

"The idea that the feds have this information and it's not shared with the state and locals defies why we create the Department of Homeland Security in the first place," said Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.

Former Sen. Joseph Lieberman, a witness at Thursday's hearing, called the failure to tell Boston police about the brothers "a serious and aggravating omission."
"This may be one of the most significant and painful takeaway lessons," he said.

Officials continue to question what warning signs were missed about the Tsarnaev brothers. Attention has been drawn to a 2011 warning from the Russian government to the FBI about Tamerlan Tsarnaev. The FBI has revealed it was told Tsarnaev was a "follower of radical Islam" and was preparing to travel overseas. The FBI says it interviewed Tsarnaev and found no evidence of terrorist involvement.

Tsarnaev ended up traveling to Russia for six months in early 2012.

Even in the federal government, information may not have traveled across all relevant agencies. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has said the government's internal system "pinged" when Tsarnaev left the country in 2012, though a Republican senator has said the FBI claimed they were not aware of that trip.

Davis said Thursday his department was not told of any of those developments, and repeatedly said he would have liked to know.

"We were not aware of Tamerlan's activities," he said. Davis said he can't say he would have reached a different conclusion than the FBI, but the developments would have prompted another look.

DOSWELL, Va. -- Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev has been buried in a cemetery in Virginia, infuriating some members of the area's Islamic community who say they weren't consulted and flooring at least one neighbor who said she didn't even know she lived near a burial ground.

The secret interment this week at a small Islamic cemetery ended a frustrating search for a community willing to take the body, which had been kept at a funeral parlor in Worcester, Mass., as cemeteries in Massachusetts and several other states refused to accept the remains.

Tsarnaev was killed April 19 in a getaway attempt after a gunbattle with police. His younger brother, Dzhokhar, was captured later and remains in custody.

Their uncle, Ruslan Tsarni of Maryland, took responsibility for the body after Tamerlan's wife, Katherine Russell, said she wanted it released to her in-laws. He said his nephew was buried in a cemetery in Doswell with the help of a faith coalition.

"The body's buried," he said. "That's it."

Dozens of communities approached about hosting a gravesite had refused, many with concerns about gravesite vandalism and backlash from the public. With costs to protect the funeral home mounting, Worcester police earlier appealed for help finding a place to bury Tsarnaev.

They had announced Thursday that "as a result of our public appeal for help, a courageous and compassionate individual came forward to provide the assistance needed to properly bury the deceased."

Martha Mullen, of Richmond, told The Associated Press in a brief telephone interview that she offered to help after seeing news reports about towns and cemeteries refusing to allow burial. She said she is not the only person who helped with arrangements.

"It was an interfaith effort," she said. "Basically because Jesus says love your enemies."

The cemetery is hidden among the rural woods and hills of Caroline County about 30 miles north of Richmond and contains only 47 graves in all. All were covered with reddish-brown mulch except for two that appeared newly dug, neither with any kind of marking and one of them presumably Tsarnaev's.

On one of the new graves lay a vase full of roses at one end and a single red rose at the other end. The other new grave was bare.

A news helicopter hovered overhead, along with a swarm of television news trucks in what is ordinarily a tranquil meadow in a large, wooded section within sight of a roller coaster at the Kings Dominion amusement park along Interstate 95.

Imam Ammar Amonette, of the Islamic Center of Virginia, said that his group was never consulted and that Mullen reached out to a separate group, the Islamic Society of Greater Richmond.

"The whole Muslim community here is furious. Frankly, we are furious that we were never given any information. It was all done secretly behind our backs," Amonette said, adding it "makes no sense whatsoever" that Tsarnaev's body was buried in Virginia.

"Now everybody who's buried in that cemetery, their loved ones are going to have to go to that place," he said.

The Islamic Society of Greater Richmond didn't immediately respond to an email seeking confirmation that it was involved in the burial.

At least one neighbor was unaware the cemetery was even there.

Jaquese Goodall, who lives less than a quarter-mile away down a winding country lane, said a rope usually blocks the gravel road leading to the cemetery. She had no idea when the body was buried and never saw hearses enter or leave the property.

"If they didn't want him in Boston, why did they bring him all the way down here against our wishes?" said Goodall, 21, who has lived in the area all her life.

"I am worried because his people may come down here to visit and there will be a whole lot of problems from him being here," said Goodall, a Baptist.

Tsarnaev's death certificate was released Friday. It showed he was shot by police in the firefight the night of April 18, run over and dragged by a vehicle, and died a few hours later on April 19. Authorities have said his brother ran over him in his getaway attempt.

He was pronounced dead at a hospital in Boston, where he could have been buried under state law, because the city was his place of death. But Boston officials said they wouldn't take the body because Tsarnaev lived in Cambridge, and Cambridge also refused.

His mother also said Russia refused to allow his body into the country so she could bury him in her native Dagestan, but Russian authorities would not comment on that contention.

Tsarnaev blamed US wars in Iraq, Afghanistan in 'martyr' note on boat's wall: report

Investigators from the FBI inspect the boat where Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found hiding.
The Boston bomb fiend blamed the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for the deadly April 15 terror attack in a note written on the wall of his hiding spot during a massive manhunt, according to a new report.
Boston Marathon bomb suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev spelled out his reasons for killing three and maiming hundreds in the twin blasts in a note inside the boat's cabin, according to CBS News.
The note, written in pen, called the bomb victims collateral damage and compared them to Muslims who had been killed in the wars.

"When you attack one Muslim, you attack all Muslims," CBS reported the note revealed.

The quote echoes a line from Osama bin Laden's terror manifesto "Letter to America" where he says, "if we are attacked, then we have the right to attack back."

The 19-year-old Tsarnaev called his slain brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, a martyr.

Tsarnaev also reportedly wrote he did not mourn his brother and he expected to join him in paradise.

CBS reports the wall where the note was written was rife with bullet holes.

The note will serve as a significant piece of evidence in the blast fiend's trial, giving insight to the motive of the Marathon attack, according to CBS News correspondent John Miller.

"It is consistent with what he told investigators while he was in custody," Miller said.

The note is key because it corroborates what Tsarnaev told investigators before he was issues his Miranda warning, Miller said.

Radical Islamic materials and an al Qaeda magazine were found on the computer of Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s widow — and there was explosive residue throughout their house.
The files found on Katherine Russell’s hard drive are part of an investigation into whether the woman — who claimed to be in the dark on her husband’s terrorist activities — was aware of the Tsarnaev's plan to set off the two bombs, The Washington Post reported.

It wasn’t clear whether the files belonged to Russell, 24, or her husband.

The explosive residue was found on the kitchen sink and table and in the bathtub at their home in Cambridge, Mass., a source told CNN.

Dzhokhar, told investigators they built the bombs in Tamerlan’s basement.

FBI agent kills man linked to Boston bombing suspects

By Richard Esposito and Matthew DeLuca, NBC News

An FBI agent was involved in a deadly shooting connected to the Boston Marathon bombing case.

The man who was shot, Ibragim Todashev, had been interviewed about his connections to the bombing suspects before by the FBI and started out cooperative, NBC sources said.

The suspect then went to attack the agent and was shot, the sources said.

The suspect is deceased, the FBI said.

“We are currently responding to a shooting incident involving an FBI special agent,” FBI Special Agent Dave Couvertier said in a statement to NBC News.

“The incident occurred in Orlando, Florida. The agent encountered the suspect while conducting official duties,” Couvertier said. “We do not have any further details at this time. We expect to have more information later this morning.”

Man linked to Boston Marathon bomber shot, killed by FBI

    Updated at 07:34 AM today
    Ibrahim Todashev

    Chuck Goudie

May 22, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- More than five weeks after the Boston Marathon attacks, federal authorities are still scouring the nation looking for radical Chechans who had connections to the bombers. Early Wednesday morning the FBI met with one of them in Orlando, Florida and he ended up shot to death.

The circumstances are unclear but friends and neighbors have identified the dead man as Ibrahim Todashev, 26. Authorities keyed on Todashev because he was in contact with one of the Boston bombers prior to last month's marathon attack, law enforcement sources said.

Todashev was from Chechnya and apparently told federal authorities that he had met Tamerlan Tsarnaev in Boston, but that he knew nothing about the planned attack.

When federal agents in central Florida went to visit Todashev overnight, it may have been because he was preparing to leave the United States and return to Chechnya according to neighbors who spoke with local reporters after the shooting. Authorities had previously questioned him about the Boston bombings and his relationship with the Tsarnaev brothers-part of a nationwide effort to weed out radical links to the notorious attack.

The ABC I-Team reports that this morning's shooting incident may have occurred when a federal agent became spooked by Todashev and thought that his life was threatened, then opened fire.

One connection that is clear: both Todashev and Tsarnaev were on the "mixed martial arts" fighting circuit. There are advertisements and internet videos of Todashev in the ring.

A recent police mugshot of Todashev was taken following his arrest on charges of aggravated battery.

The FBI is not releasing much information yet. According to FBI spokesperson Special Agent Dave Couvertier: "We are currently responding to a shooting incident involving an FBI special agent. The incident occurred in Orlando Florida. The agent encountered the suspect while conducting official duties. The suspect is deceased. We do not have any further details at this time. We expect to have more information later this morning."

The Florida incident comes a few days after a Chechen rebel who said his home was searched by the FBI in connection to the Boston Marathon bombing investigation. That man issued a public statement claiming he had "nothing to do with the terrible act in Boston."

"I would like to state that I barely knew the Tsarnaev family, and only met them for the first time after we moved to the U.S.," 35-year-old Musa Khadjimuradov said in a letter handed to media outlets.

"During the very few encounters, which were initiated by Tsarnaev, we have never discussed political or religious issues, so I could never guess what ideas were in their minds."

"Should I have any suspicions I would do my duty to prevent what happened at the Boston marathon," he added.

Khadjimuradov said he was repeatedly interviewed by the FBI and agents searched his home and took DNA and fingerprint samples, but that the encounter was peaceful.

FBI Orlando deadly shooting may have ties to Boston Marathon bombings, report says

ORLANDO - An FBI agent was involved in a deadly shooting early Wednesday morning that could have ties to the Boston Marathon bombings, WPTV.com reported.

Media sources say a friend of the suspect said his friend was being investigated as part of the Boston bombings and knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters.

Gunshots rang out just before midnight when a team of FBI agents swarmed the Windhover condominium complex near Universal Studios in Orlando, officials said.

An FBI spokesman told Orlando television stations that their agent was conducting official duties when the shooting occurred. No further details were released, but the agency says an update is expected later Wednesday.
