Judge Napolitano on FNC now saying that this was way more firepower (automatic weapons, explosives) these suspects had than your average criminals. Thinks they're involved despite them not being one of the 2 suspects.

I think this fits with this being a terror cell.

BOSTON POLICE SCANNER: MIKE MULUGETA IS DEAD
3:06 AM: SUNIL TRIPATHI NAMED AS ONE OF THE SUSPECTS BY THE BOSTON POLICE. MIKE MULUGETA NAMED AS THE OTHER.
CONFIRMED 2:26: ONE OF THE ARRESTED IN THE MIT/WATERTOWN SHOOTINGS IS ONE OF THE BOSTON MARATHON BOMBERS.
UPDATE 1:01 am EST: Holy shit, something's happening at MIT. Three officers shot and two "Middle Eastern" Men firing at them with police and grenades.

There has been speculation, mostly kicked off by Reddit that missing Ivy League student Sunil Tripathi could be involved in the Boston bombing. He went missing last month without a trace. The FBI became involved in the case, even though it was a presumed suicide.



Tripathi was a philosophy major at Brown University, not far from Boston, where the search expanded to. His father is a rich software engineer.

Right after he went missing, explosives were found near Brown University and destroyed in a controlled detonation. No one had been found behind it. The location is halfway between Brown and Boston.

The first incident was reported at 8:34 p.m. on March 12. Police and fire personnel responded to the area of Pine Street and Tower Hill Drive. Witnesses at the nearby Target store on Washington Street reported seeing a bright flash and hearing two explosions from that area.

Several unexploded devices were found at the scene and later detonated under secure conditions by the State Police Bomb Squad.

The second incident was a few days later at 7:49 p.m. on March 15. The second incident was near the first, in the area of Hearthstone and Fieldstone lanes. The area was searched but no explosives were found.

His former classmate was a bit freaked out by the whole thing:



His original Facebook profile was pretty standard fare, though the site meant to find him has gone offline.

Now there is speculation that he may have been in Boston on Monday.

I can be 100% honest and say that it was anonymous individuals from 4chan who actually found Sunil. I watched it happen and was also monitoring and posting to reddit. It was funny how they overlapped here.

Radio feed: Black hat suspect 1 had an explosive pack on his body that went off at the hospital. Officers warned suspect 2 may have the same.

to help people sort out the story and understand what is going on...i apologize if a few of the details are wrong. its been a long night:

I have been listening to the Boston PD scanner all night...we are talking 4-5 hours straight. Some crazy things have gone down.


First an MIT officer was shot...we could hear his last screams over the radio...he has been confirmed dead.


A little later a Mercedes SUV was hijacked and driven to a gas station, where one of the drivers went in and was caught on camera...this is where the car owner escaped. At the time there was nothing to hint that these two incidents were related.


Officers traced the SUV via anti-theft technology and began pursuit...the car started shooting at the officers. The police finally forced the SUV to crash. There was a shootout and 1 or more officers went down (believed to still be alive).


Now they were in Watertown and they realized the suspects had bombs (more pressure cooker) and assault rifles. One of the suspects ran at the officers firing...he was shot and taken to the hospital. It is believed he is now dead. The other suspect jumped in the SUV and drove away.


At this point it was still unclear if any of this was related to MIT or to the Marathon.


The Boston PD/SWAT/ATF/FBI/National Guard have been chasing the remaining suspect around Watertown. They believe they have a perimeter around him and they are waiting for daylight to gain the advantage. They are currently (~4 AM) clearing streets.


It has now been confirmed that these are the Marathon bombers. It has also been confirmed that the remaining at-large suspect is Sunil Tripathi, the missing Brown student from last month. If you'll recall, right before he went missing there were explosives found on campus. People are speculating this was 'practice' before the Marathon bombing.


Due to the amount of explosives and firearms they had in their possession, it appears the two suspects were planning something large at MIT -- Perhaps a bomb similar to the Marathon, and then a shooting spree.


The MIT officer may have recognized one of the suspects which caused the suspect to shoot him and then flee the scene. This officer foiled their plan and they panicked and stole the SUV and tried to escape. The officer is obviously a hero for dying in the line of duty, but it is very possible he saved MANY MANY more lives tonight.


The news (CNN et al) are still WAY behind on all of this. I thought I would share some of my insight.

Read elsewhere they had grenades and automatic weapons and a bomb strapped to him.

Sounds like Sleeper Cells are becoming active and because they didn't leave the area their activity was still ongoing.

I would say it is official. We can say Boston was/is under attack and I would strongly consider many of the other events such as with electric substations being part of a larger scheme. I do not think this ends it.
