    Default The last Pope

I may be way off here, but it seems I recall reading that Pope Benedict the 16th was to be the next to the last Pope. For some reason I seem to think it was a prodiction of Nostradomeus? Not being a person of faith, it really doesn't matter to me, but to all my friends of the Catholic persuasion you have my best wishes for a successful sucessor on your next Pontiff.

Petrus Romanus: 900 Year Old Prophecy Says Next Pope Will Oversee End of Days

In 1139 A.D. the Catholic Saint Malachy was said to have experienced visions during a trip to Rome. He subsequently put these visions to paper and penned a document containing 112 short phrases purporting to describe all future popes that would head the Catholic Church. Though not a part of official Catholic dogma or church teachings, this Prophecy of the Popes is well known by Vatican officials and church scholars because it has been remarkably accurate about naming the last 111 heads of one of the world’s oldest and most widespread religions.

According to researchers, theologians and evangelical scholars, the phrases Malachy scribed in his writings offer up the “nature, name, destiny or coat of arms” of every pope in succession and culminate with the naming of the 112th pope.

This morning, Pope Benedict XVI announced he would be retiring. Jokingly referred to as “God’s Rottweiler” in some circles, the German born 111th Pontiff as described in Malachy’s prophecy is called the Gloria Olivae, or ”glory of the olive,” which some supporters of the prophecy suggest is a reference to the Benedictine Order of monks from whom Benedict got his namesake. The monks are also known as the Olivetans, and are represented by an olive branch, leaving many to believe that Saint Malachy was, once again, right.

Now, according to prophecy, the 112th Pope will step up to head the Church, and he will be named Petrus Romanus, or Peter the Roman.

Whether you’re Catholic, Christian or not a religious person at all, the fact that a 900 year old prophecy is coming to a close is intriguing. And one way or the other, whether its predictions turn out to be true or not, the prophecy concludes with the next Pope.

Eerily, the prophecy describes the Catholic Church’s last Pontiff as overseeing a new era, and one that will be met with great difficulty and destruction:
“In extreme persecution the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman…”
“Who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible or fearsome judge will judge his people.
    The End.”

Prophecy of the Popes – Attributed to St. Malachy circa 1139 A.D.
Within the Book of Revelation, also known as The Apocalypse of John, are references to the destruction of the City of Seven Hills (Rome) and to the many trials that will be faced by mankind ahead of the final judgement – the rapture, the rise of the anti-christ, seven years of tribulations, and the end of days.

Suffice it to say, if the prophecy is accurate, then the world will soon be engulfed in a battle between good and evil.
The idea by some Catholics that the next pope on St. Malachy’s list heralds the beginning of “great apostasy” followed by “great tribulation” sets the stage for the imminent unfolding of apocalyptic events, something many non-Catholics agree with. This will give rise to the false prophet, who according to the book of Revelation leads the world’s religious communities into embracing a political leader known as Antichrist.

Throughout history, many Catholic priests—some deceased now—have been surprisingly outspoken on what they have seen as this inevitable danger rising from within the ranks of Catholicism as a result of secret satanic “Illuminati-Masonic” influences. These priests claim secret knowledge of an multinational power elite and occult hierarchy operating behind supranatural and global political machinations. Among this secret society are sinister false Catholic infiltrators who understand that, as the Roman Catholic Church represents one-sixth of the world’s population and over half of all Christians, it is indispensable for controlling future global elements in matters of church and state and the fulfillment of a diabolical plan called “Alta Vendita,” which assumes control of the papacy and helps the False Prophet deceive the world’s faithful (including Catholics) into worshipping Antichrist.

As stated by Dr. Michael Lake on the front cover of this unprecedented report, Catholic and evangelical scholars have dreaded this moment for centuries. Unfortunately – as you will discover in the next 90 days – time for avoiding Peter the Roman just ran out.

The prophecy begins in 1143 with the election of Pope Celestine II, who is described in Latin as “Ex caſtro Tiberis,” or “From a castle of the Tiber.” Celestine II was born in central Italy in a city that sits on the banks of the Tiber river. Pope John Paul II is referred to as “De labore folis,” or “from the labour of the sun,” and is the only pope to have been born on the day of an eclipse and entombed on one as well.

There are scores of similar parallels between prophecy and pope, adding all the more credence to its legitimacy.
In its last prediction, though the prophecy refers to Petrus Romanus as the shepherd that will pasture his sheep, it may not necessarily mean the Pope will be on the side of the people, or even God. According to Thomas Horn, the author of Petrus Romanus: The Final Pope Is Here, the last pope is not the anti-christ, but he may well be the false prophet who ushers him in - a chilling thought for the billions of Catholics and Christians around the world:
The important fact is this. The very next Pope, following Pope Benedict the XVI who, according to a lot of news coming out of Rome right now – his days are numbered. He’s getting older, he’s getting feeble, he may retire…

The next Pope is the final one on a 900 year old prophecy.
So, imagine how historical this moment is with regard to end times bible prophecy.
By the way, the prophecy tells us that he will be the false prophet of biblical fame who will help give rise to the anti-christ.

A Look at the St. Malachy Prophecy:

Whether coincidence, self fulfilling through the machinations of man, or otherworldly, Malachy’s writings have certainly held the attention of the highest levels at the Vatican for centuries, and perhaps even influenced its decisions.
Now, with Benedict the XVI stepping down, we enter its final phase, and we’ll soon learn how accurate it really is.

I think it is Father Martin Malachi I recall with much to say about end times and popes. He had been a guest many times with Art Bell in the 90's

More info on the Good Father:

Also a show from 1996 regarding possession and exorcism. He was a real exorcist for the Church.

    Alrighty then.....

    Let's go over this...

In early 1976 I asked my sweetheart to marry me. I had to go through "Catechism" classes, in effect studying Catholicism myself being a Protestant - Baptist most of my life.

I basically then became "Half Catholic" (/chuckles) promising to raise the children as Catholic - technically I promised NOT to interfere with their upbringing as Catholic which promise I kept. I can't help it if my sweet and good Catholic wife was not as true to her faith as she perhaps thought she was... but I digress.

We watched as several Popes have come and gone, and today, for the first time in 600 years a Pope QUITS. Gives up, retires, says, "Naw, God, I'm finished, and besides I wanted to retire to begin with and you and the Cardinals made me a Pope... so long, sayonara, adios..."

Lightning hits the Vatican the day he says he's retiring.

I haven't listened to the Fr. Martin thing, but I have both listened to and spoken (emailed specifically) to Father Malachi Martin in the past. I vaguely remember him telling us all sorts of things from a purely hypothetical conspiratorial point of view. I don't recall him stating this would be the last Pope or whatever (though he might have).

Over the course of time I've crossed this threshold more times than I care to recall... including everything from my own "Coming to Christ" as a child - most likely under duress - to realizing that religion, while it's great for some, is not necessarily for us all and thus I have taken the tack of standing off from the rocky shores of the land in my worldly vessel in the hopes I don't crash into those same shores. I've taken upon myself to do "the right thing" in everything I do, even though I have been driven off the "path of righteousness" many times in the past, I've generally gotten back on course.

I do NOT believe that religion should dictate to anyone how they should live, what they should do, nor how they should treat others - but I believe with all my heart that it is in each and every single one of us to do good or evil. MOST understand that Good is the way to go. Those who do not understand and drift to evil generally don't care, aren't "moral" in their own hearts and nothing we as humans can do can MAKE them be or do good. It just won't work.

Prophetia Sancte Malachiae Archiepiscopi, de Summis Pontificibus --- The Prophecy of Archbishop Saint Malachi, of the Supreme Pontiffs is a listing of all the coming pontiffs and I assume (since my Latin sucks pretty badly most of the time, I can muddle through it or any other language, but I'm hardly fluent) encrypted... goes through the names of each Pope to be. This thing was published in the 16th century sometime (Mid 1500s if memory serves). The most INTERESTING PART of this prophecy is that is was simply unadulterated bullshit.

The names of some of the Popes were accurate, but most of them after 1590 the list went to hell in a hand basket and was just wrong. The Roman Catholic Church believes this stuff to be a forgery and it most likely was some of the first set of Conspiracy Theorists out there trying to redirect the Roman Catholics into some other direction.

So... Going back, I learned enough of being a Catholic to know that 1) I don't plan, want or am going to "tithe" 10% of my income to a church, and I damned sure hate giving 48% or more to the US Government, 2) Religion is for everyone else but me, 3) No one, not a Pope, an Alien "god" or a supernatural being is going to control me without me fighting back, 3) I could care LESS if this is the next to the last, last or first REAL Pope, 4) That apparently Pope John Paul the II wasn't so much a bad guy as some folks here used to make him out to be, 5) I never should have wasted my time sitting in catechism classes - as they were the biggest waste of time I ever spent other than the time I spent sitting in a Southern Baptist Church, 6) If I had wanted to be "evil" I would have lived during the time of the Inquisition - because God knows those were bad mo-fos...

With that - I bid fare-thee-well to Pope Benedict the 16th - the 256th Pope and wish him well on his journey. I sure hope he enjoys the rest of his elderly years sitting at Castel Gandolfo (Fortress Gandalf) in Italy.

Speaking of Gandalf, I sure hope they take that ring and destroy it in Mt. Doom (Mt. Vesuvius) soon because we all know that "One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them", really isn't something we want out there in the hands of evil! And just where the hell is Bilbo and Frodo in all this anyway?

Wonder who's next in the barrel?

By the way, the rest of that poem goes:

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

I heard the pope quit because there is new pederasty stuff that's going to come to light. I also heard, and no, not a joke, that Cardinal Ratzenburg has/had a boyfriend and was known to promote for sexual favors. Women need not apply. A slander? I don't know, but I know for sure just listening to his voice, he sounds like a ponce to me.

I had not heard those things - but you know at this point in my life I would neither be shocked nor surprised.

So you think he bailed out to avoid the lime-light and completely destroy any faith people have left in a religion that requires a 10% tithe of your entire yearly income?

I'm a Christian. Most here know that. Came to faith at 30 years of age and was never under any duress as a child to do so. It would have been tough as my parents spent most of their time in adulterous affairs, abandoning their children and generally pursuing self-centered acts of hedonistic desire. That said, I think the the Saint Malachy stuff is malarchy.

I try not to do that. Which is why I had soooooooo many problems with even having a religious forum here, or at Anomalies.

Technically, I was the one who created (and suggested) the religious forum over there to get it out of the other stuff.

Here I guess I was "resistant" to it even though I think I actually created it. Maybe Ryan did, I don't remember now. But I know it was to separate religion, politics and science from one another - and on Anomalies it was mostly to keep the "conspiracy" from mixing with the "science" and "pseudoscience" lol

Soros, Obama Allies Trying to Pick Next Pope

Submitted by Brian Tashman on Tuesday, 3/5/2013 1:00 pm

Accuracy In Media director Cliff Kincaid yesterday warned that allies of George Soros and President Obama are attempting to pick the next pope. Kincaid warns that a “group of radicals” in the “left-wing lobby in the U.S.” are trying to engineer the selection of Ghanaian Cardinal Peter Turkson as Pope.

Kincaid’s argument boils down to the fact that Turkson introduced a document on global financial policy which was endorsed by Stephen Schneck of Catholic University (along with Pope Benedict XVI) and attended one of Schneck’s conferences in 2011.

Since Schneck supported Obama’s reelection and is tied to the group Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, naturally Kincaid has arrived at the conclusion that Soros is plotting to pick the next pope in order to “use the Vatican in a global campaign against capitalism.”
In fact, the article is fittingly titled: “Black Socialist Pope to Follow Black Socialist President?

With African Catholic Cardinal Peter Turkson in the running as the next pope, the media have noted that he carries the fancy title of the president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, an arm of the Vatican. But they have failed to note the existence of a left-wing lobby in the U.S. working feverishly on his behalf. It is the same group of radicals, with connections to billionaire hedge-fund operator George Soros, who backed Obama for president by claiming he shared their Catholic values.

When Turkson’s Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace issued a controversial 2011 document, “Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of Global Political Authority,” [Stephen] Schneck called it “breathtaking” and a “Catholic way forward” from the present crisis.

A “global political authority” was endorsed by Pope Benedict XVI’s “Charity in Truth” encyclical in 2009.

Turkson, who is from Ghana, has taken “social justice” to the global level, arguing for a “global financial authority” to solve the world’s economic problems.

For this reason, left-wing “progressives” backing Obama hope Turkson will be the next pope and use the Vatican in a global campaign against capitalism.

Vatican Radio said the Turkson document, “Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of Global Political Authority,” had “proposed the creation of a global political authority to manage the economy and a new world economic order” with the United Nations “as a point of reference.”

Crisis Magazine, a conservative Catholic publication, said it contained “some downright frightening prescriptions for reshaping the worldwide economy” and could be seen as “a blueprint for a George Soros agenda.”

Turkson spoke at the May 2, 2011, conference organized by Schneck at CUA on the subject of Rerum Novarum. He appeared with Bishop Stephen E. Blaire, chairman of the Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Alexia K. Kelley, deputy director of the Obama White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

You know, I find this kind of funny in a way.

Why would a bunch of Godless commies want to pick the pope, and they can't actually, it's up to the Cardinals.

However, I've seen several media articles in the last few days pushing "is the Catholic Church ready for the first African Pope?"

Have you ever considered that this last pope, will indeed be the last pope? Not because the end is nigh, but because he never dies?

What if, during the next decade, aging is solved and in fact, reversed? It takes millions of dollars and annual treatments but eventually, your body returns to somewhere in your 20s. If these treatments are available, certainly the pope will make sure he gets 'em. He then decides to reign until the church collapses about his ears 1000 years from now.
