And this isn't video of VDV troops but was a related video that popped up. It looks like it is from a recent (if not from this year) Russian Victory Day celebration. I have no idea what is being said but the propaganda strength is off the charts with this!
By the way... Hell yeah I'd hit that! :naughty: I'd hit it hard enough to knock the Commie right outta her! :bhum:

A newer Russian military recruiting video I came across. Pretty stylish and flashy!

Original text and translation of the commie ditty above, which is sung I suppose to boost morale of the Russian public (it is nothing new, they have been staging shows like this across Russia since the 1990's). The ditty comes from some Russian movie whose tiltle escapes me for the moment. I suppose it is the Ruskie equivalent of "Red dawn" (Rusian version is nuclear). Members of general audience in the clip know words of the ditty and sing along (translaton below).

TRANSLATION.
WE NEED ONE VICTORY
Here birds cannot fly,
Trees cannot grow,
Only we, arm in arm
Are growing into the earth.
The planet burns as it spins,
Smoke hovers over our Fatherland.
What it means, is that we need only one victory,
Once and for all. We shall not regret the price.
Refrain:
Deadly fire awaits us,
And nothing we can do about it.
Banish any doubt, our tenth paratroop
Batalion is leaving at night.
As soon as the battle is spent,
Second command is sounded.
Postman will became insane
trying to find us.
A beautiful rocket is rising towards clouds,
Machine gun is firing unceasingly.
What it means, is that we need only one victory,
Once and for all. We shall not regret the price.
Ref:
Deadly fire awaits us,
And nothing we can do about it.
Banish any doubt, our tenth paratroop
Batalion is leaving at night.
From Kursk to Orel, war has brought us
To the gates of the enemy. (reference to WWII)
Such a brother and his business...
Whenever we remeber this
And have any doubts.
What it means, is that we need only one victory,
Once and for all. We shall not regret the price.
Ref:
Deadly fire awaits us,
And nothing we can do about it.
Banish any doubt, our tenth independent paratroop
Batalion is leaving at night.

Kosciuszko thanks a ton for the translation! :2thumbs:
When you use machine translation, it is often flawed and almost certainly doesn't catch proper meaning and context correctly. It is extremely helpful to have a native speaker properly translate.
We may have to make you the official board Russian translator!

I would hardly call myself a native Russian speaker, rather a native Polish speaker. I do not speak much Russian nowadays, but understand some from my high-school days (enough to tell you that Putin is a terrible speaker who has problems enunciating phrases even when sober). Goole translation is fixed on purpose so that we continue to be unable to read the twisted thoughts of commie thugs at KGB-FSB. Google is designed by its software engineers (who obviously take their ques from Moscow) to be unable to translate certain key Russian words and phrases, i.e. it will not translate Russian "pulemiet" to "machine gun" or "rakieta" to "rocket" in any other language under the sun. There are also may new idiomatic expression and colloquialism that are not in my Russian dictionary, but what the heck, one can search for those phrases in Russian press! One can write one's own dictionary as one goes along.:cool::cool:

I'm not one for learning languages. I've come to the conclusion that even learning spanish is difficult. I speak English and a few words in several languages. I can muddle through some of them slowly...
But we can certainly see the difference in our stories and those of the Russians.

Quote:
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
"While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. "
God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.
Quote:
America the Beautiful
Words by Katharine Lee Bates,
Melody by Samuel Ward
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
Does ANYONE see ANYTHING about "one final victory" at ALL COSTS?
No. God. Love. Beauty. America.
Hate, kill them all, at all costs. Kill the babies, kill the women. Kill the little children. Burn all that they stand for.
That's what *I* see in their songs.
The Russians are NOT OUR FRIENDS. They never have been, and never will be.
Red Dawn is a scenario only. It's not the real scenario. They will kill every living thing in the United States. They will nuke most of the major cities, round up and execute all Americans, they will stifle any sort of American dreams, or memories if that "scenario" comes to pass.
Mark my words.
As Mr. Franklin once said...
"We must, indeed, all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately."
-In the Continental Congress just before signing the Declaration of Independence, 1776.

I haven't sat and watched the whole video but this is supposed to be a piece on Russia's version of "Future Weapons System" for their military.

Video of Russia's Eastern Military District exercises from September of this year. Take note of the missile strikes on the derelict ship, that's supposedly the Moskit missile in action.

Looks like a dual missile strike at the bow that traveled the length of the ship below the main deck. Looked pretty devastating.

Yep, that's exactly what happened.
And if you notice one of them comes in right above the water (note the wake on the water) and the other came in from higher up.
